History
Established as a Farming community on the banks of Northern side of Musi River in the 18th Century, Amberpet got its name from the famous sufi saint His Holiness Hazrath Amber Miyan ( rehmathullah alaiah), and was also believed to be one of the advisors for Emperor Aurangzeb (Moghuls) for this part of Golkonda dynasty at that time.
The Mazar-e-Shareef is located right on the main road, which draws crowd from all over the place on its annual Urs Shareef. Many believe that this place, once barren, was miraculously propagated and populated into dense forest, fruit-growing fields, after His Holiness Hazrath Amber Miyan (ra) decided to stay here and make this place his final home before his heavenly abode.
Transport
Amberpet is well-connected by both rail and road networks. The Hyderabad/Warangal state highway passes through Amberpet. It has the Kachiguda railway station and is in close proximity to the Mumbai-Vijaywada National Highway(NH-9). The Kachiguda Railway Station, easily located from the Amberpet road is one of the oldest of its kind built by the then ruler The Nizams in order to connect city to other parts of the country.
The closest MMTS Train station is half kilometer away at Kachiguda or Vidyanagar.
